First, we’ll talk on the phone and we will send you all the information you’ll need in order to participate in the SCI, including what to pack.You’ll make your way to Elk River Studios in Brewer, Maine in the manner of your preference. If you travel by air, we will meet you at the airport. If you travel by land, we will make sure you will get to your lodging.
You will be met at the airport and taken to drop off your things at your room, freshen up, then be taken to Elk River Studios for evening Training and dinner. Everyone will experience Somatic Movement and Stick Bodywork that first evening, then off to bed.
The morning starts with coffee/tea, then outside for cadence-walk warm-ups, then students either do their normal morning routine if they want or train with our instructors before hot breakfast. After breakfast, we have a short break and continue training. There is a large master schedule in the dining room of Elk River Studios, which shows each training period. Many sessions of training are done with the group as a whole, but during some periods (like bodywork), students individually experience a circuit of one-on-one training sessions.
Healthy snacks, lunch, and dinner will be served and training will continue until 10 pm. each evening.
And please remember, that all training is optional. Somatic Convergence Training is very adaptable to deal with everyone, exactly as they are at that moment. Our training is not about helping you achieve a pre-conceived ideal. Much more importantly, this is a unique opportunity to learn much more about who you are, in a very short amount of time. The amount and intensity with which you train is completely up to you.
The same early morning routine of cadence breathing warm-up and optional outdoor Systema movement class, then breakfast and another full day of world-class somatic training, custom blended from multiple disciplines, for maximum efficiency and impact. The last evening culminates with a session in our wonderful Banya (Russian-style Sauna); a perfect, intense yet relaxing experience, to send you off to a deep, restorative sleep.
